Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility holds immense importance as it requires corporate entities to not only prioritize the interests of stakeholders but also consider the environmental, economic, and social implications of their actions. The study was conducted with the aim of probing the relation among (CSR) Corporate Social Responsibility investment & business outcomes in the context of India, using the ESG (Social, Environmental, & Governance) index as an extent of CSR. Specifically, the study analyses the case of Central Coalfields Limited, a major coal mining company in India. The study employs a qualitative research approach, using secondary data from the company's financial reports and CSR disclosures. The discoveries of the study indicate that there is an optimistic correlation among CSR investment & Business performance, indicating that CSR initiatives might have a favourable influence on the overall business outcomes of Indian enterprises. The study ends with a debate on the importance of these discoveries for those who make policies, managers, & other stakeholders and provides recommendations for forthcoming analysis in this domain.
