Main Article Content
Abstract
This study presents a practical guide for conducting bibliometric analysis using R-Studio, with a focus on the International Journal of Tourism Research. Bibliometric analysis is an important research method used to evaluate the impact of scholarly publications and the networks of authors and journals in a particular field. R-Studio is a powerful tool for conducting bibliometric analysis, and this guide offers step-by-step instructions for importing and analyzing bibliographic data, visualizing citation networks, and calculating metrics such as citation counts and h-index. The guide is designed to be accessible to researchers at all levels of experience and is intended to help researchers in the field of tourism research better understand the scholarly impact of their work and the work of their peers. The current study conducts thematic, co-citation, and co-authorship analyses to assess the journal's descriptive, conceptual, social, and intellectual structure. The results indicate that China and the United Kingdom are the leading countries, and that Timothy Jeonglyeol Lee is the top author in the journal. This study offers strategic insights that can be useful for researchers who plan to conduct future studies in various areas of tourism and related fields.
