Exploring Transformational Leadership as an antecedent of Employee Engagement: a literature Review

Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the role of transformational leadership in predicting employee engagement.
Research Design: The purpose was achieved through an intensive literature review to identify the previous research gaps related to transformational leadership and employee engagement. The search was carried out in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science to ascertain and corroborate the link between the two variables.
Findings: Results indicated that transformational leadership does have a major impact on the existence of employee engagement with few major situational constraints.
Implications: This study can act as a bridge between the scarce literature on the relationship between transformational leadership and employee engagement both in academic and practitioner purview.
