Towards Activating the Policy of Economic Diversification in Algeria
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to explore the reality of Algeria's economic diversification strategy by analyzing the most significant indicators of economic diversification and discussing methods to enhance it. The study sought to answer the question: What are the ways to activate the economic diversification policy in Algeria?
The research yielded several findings, with the analysis of economic diversification indicators revealing the weakness of this policy in Algeria, as the country remains heavily reliant on the hydrocarbon sector, particularly in exports. In 2021, non-hydrocarbon exports accounted for only 11.7% of total exports. The study also identified potential ways to activate this strategy in Algeria by investing in the agricultural, tourism, industrial, and renewable energy sectors.
